How do I get split screen on my TV

How do I get split screen on my TV? I have DirecTV, but not sure if it's STREAM, or how I would even find that out. Also, is there certain equipment that I need? Can't tell what type of Genie I have....

If you have a Genie and a satellite dish, you have Directv satellite service, not Directv Stream. I don’t believe any Directv receiver supports split screen. Go to settings/info & test to see what receiver you have.

You have to have an HR44/54 Genie to get PIP.  The HS17 Genie2  doesn't have PIP.

DirecTV - Service by satellite. This would have been tech installed, cabling, receiving dish, etc.

DIRECTV STREAM - This is a streaming only service. You use apps on streaming devices or get their streaming box, all of which is connected to your home internet.

Hello @Red_In_GA, we are happy to solve your inquiries.

DIRECTV Satellite requires technical installation of a dish and the amount of receivers that you might need. Depending on the receiver you have, you might be able to set up Picture in Picture to watch two programs at the same time.

There are several ways to find the model of your receivers. For instance, using your remote control:

    1. Press MENU on your remote.
    2. Select Settings >Info & Test to see your receiver info.

DIRECTV STREAM is a stream service that you can watch using a compatible device . The option to split the screen to watch two programs at the same time is not available yet.

Thanks for your insight @sandblaster, @shannon02, @Juniper.
