you would need a smart tv or some other device with netflix, directv doesnt have netflix associated with it. some devices would be xbox,plystation, firestick, etc you would also nedd to have a paid subscription to netflix, same goes with hulu and several other entertaiment entities
Use media streaming device (Roku, Firestick, etc.), or download the Netflix app to your TV set if it is one that supports it. This will not go through your DirecTV's connection at all.

DTV and netflix are competitors so DTV doesn't have anything to do with getting netflix on your TV.
