Here’s how you can watch the game (Kansas City Chiefs):
KMCI/38 the Spot can be viewed on the following broadcast providers in the Kansas City area:

The league stipulates the channel availability of a game due to broadcast rights and legal arrangements. The Chiefs' game on Saturday, August 17th, will be broadcast on your local 41 - KHSB and 212 - NFL Network, and on Thursday, August 22nd, it will be available on channel 212 - NFL Network. Visit Kansas City Chiefs 2024 TV Schedule | DIRECTV Insider to learn more. Blackouts may still apply. DIRECTV appreciates your input. Lorie, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Lorie, thanks for the information as a prior search indicated the 8/22 game was only going to be broadcast on KCMI 38 The Spot and, I know, the easiest way to see that channel is OTA. I then found that DIRECTV had that channel on 38, but I don't get that with my subscription.
Glad to see the game will be on the NFL channel. I tried the URL (Kansas City Chiefs 2024 TV Schedule | DIRECTV Insider) and I get this error when I try to open it:
An error occurred while processing your request.

I do appreciate your help and information - thank you very much.

DTV can only give you the locals in your DMA per FCC rules. Move to Johnson or anywhere KMCI 38 is in the DMA. DTV via internet AKA DTV streaming may have it, depends on what DMA the server is located in.

I assume you are talking about moving to Johnson County Kansas?
I do live in Johnson County (Olathe, Kansas 66061) and I still do not have it in my subscription with Directv. When I searched the internet to see if it carried KMCI 38 The Spot, the information stated that Directv did indeed have it listed as channel 38.
If Directv does have it listed as channel 38, then why can't I get it?

Hi, @spiegela. Channel 38(KMCI) is available in your market exclusively on Satellite service. Do you have Satellite or Stream? Ryan, DIRECTV Community Specialist

@spiegela
You can only get locals that are in your Designated Market Area (DMA). Your physical service address determines what locals you are permitted to get per FCC regulations. This setup was lobbied by the local network owners.
To see what locals you get where you live: https://www.directv.com/channel-lineup/
(just make sure it shows the correct zip code and county)
Unfortunately you are not in the DMA for that channel. The only way to get it would be to move.

The local channel look up only gives Johnson KS not Olathe that is listed in the Kansas City DMA

Looks like there is both a Johnson City and a Johnson County from a quick web search. I can see that causing problems beyond this conversation.

When I use the one I posted it shows Johnson, KS under county. But it doesn't list the independent channel like yours.
Seems the lists don't agree whether they should have the channel or not.
