Lcc

My parents received a box today. It is a lcc. They don't know why they received it.  Will they be charged for it?

That is a local channel connector and it is used to merge OTA channels into an HR44/54 guide to watch and record them.  There is no charge for it.

That is the Local Channel Connector (LCC).

Allows you to connect a regular antenna to the 2nd or 3rd generation Genie (HR44 or HR54). Can watch additional locals within range without switching inputs, get information in the guide, and can record from them.

This is an owned accessory. No monthly charge. Was given out free in certain circumstances or approved test market. Not yet available for national launch.

Earlier item before the Genie era was the AM21. Serves the same function for older models.

Usually, you receive a LCC after complaining about the unavailability of local channel (s), so for it to show up out of the blue is quite odd. These are actually sought after as they are of no availability, especially online ( eBay, etc) . Only a few markets were ever given the opportunity to receive one.
