" Link TV - channel 375"

Guide says content provider discontinued channel, NOT SO. Link is alive and well on Dish and Streaming but DTV is not disclosing the real truth behind killing the channel. Cant find any explanation on the web. Anyone?

Can be so. Link TV can discontinue the channel with one specific providers and still have it on Dish and other streaming services. It is not saying the channel itself was shutdown everywhere (like Cloo, Chiller, and SoapNet a while back).

So it is possible that the carriage agreement ended and Link discontinued their channel as there was no current agreement obligating them to provide it. Looking at their (Link's) website, DirecTV isn't even mentioned so doesn't appear to be negotiating right now.

Wasn't Link TV the channel that said that satellite is no longer a good option for them so they left?

Thanks for the reminder.

Guide says content provider discontinued channel, NOT SO.

Well it IS SO as verified on their own website. It likely means that their agreement with Dish would not be renewed when that one comes up.

Just wish they wouldn't have added "It is no longer available" Implying the channel has ceased programming when it is alive and well on Dish and Streaming. Thanks for all the replies. Great forum.

Announcements like that normally are just for that TV provider. Just like if Dish put a message on their screen about a channel no longer available, that means for them but not neceesserily everybody.

So "no longer available" is only guaranteed/specific to that TV provider. Perhaps they could just add two words "on DirecTV" to make it just clear enough.

It has been so long, I don't recall if the message was different when certain channels were shut down by their respective owners (Cloo, Chiller, SoapNet) so weren't with anybody anymore.
