Local CBS station off the error for 4 months
We have been without our local CBS out of Springfield, MO, channel 10, for the past 4 months....You all want to blame contract negotiations with Mission Broadcasting, so you blame them, they blame you and I get screwed for the past 4 months....Paying for a service you are not providing....Time is up, in the next few weeks we will be canceling anything to do with Direct TV....The way this has been handled has been a total trainwreck from the beginning....Lost faith in AT & T as well, going to look into some changes with that company.

Sadly, all TV providers are subject to these crazy contract issues. Switching won't help for very long. Ask the station owner (Mission) why TV providers should have to be paying them anything to carry FREE over-the-air TV stations.

Mission can return the feed at anytime, but have chosen not to.
You are paying DTV to deliver satellite channels and per the TOS DTV can change the channels and programing at anytime.

If you are in range you could always use an over-the-air antenna to get your local CBS station for free. Or if you are able to stream you could always stream your CBS channels through Paramount Plus.

Yes negotiations are a two-way street. This is between Mission and DirecTV. But if MIssion gets what they want then that raises our bill, for channels available over the free airways. You may be fine with cost going up for free locals, but many of us are not.
Time to wake up and smell the coffee. You are getting exactly what you pay for, which is satellite TV. You are not guaranteed, promised, owed, etc. any specific channel. This is why all TV providers (not just DirecTV) have a clause stating that channels and their programming may change at any time. That is the reality.
What will you do when it happens with your next provider over channels you enjoy? No TV provider is immune. And FYI, none of us care if time is up for you or that you cancel. We are customers like you giving a realistic perspective on the situation. So you telling us you are canceling means absolutely nothing.
Also a note, it is DirecTV, not Direct TV.
