Lost some of my local channels

I live in Richmond, Indiana which is literally right on the Ohio/Indiana border.  Because of this fact, up until a few days ago, I was getting local channels out of both Dayton, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana. I actually physically live closer to Dayton than I do to Indianapolis. When I called customer service, I was told due to a change in the Nielson markets, I'd no longer be getting the Dayton channels. I need both sets of channels. Living in Indiana, I need the Indianapolis news to know what's happening here. But living so close to Dayton, I also need their news since I work in Ohio and am more affected by Dayton's weather than I am Indianapolis'. How can I get those stations back?

You probably won't be able to get them back. DirecTV and other providers must abide by the FCC DMA rules for local channel availability. Check www.directv.com/locals to see what locals you should be getting at your location.

Per Federal regulations, DirecTV is only allowed to provide you the locals for your Designated Market Area (DMA). That is determined by your zip code (and sometimes county) of your physical service address. www.directv.com/locals

For any locals not in your DMA, a regular antenna connected to your TV would be the alternative.
