Missing channels
We signed up for the ultimate package partly because it had the Outdoor Channel. We had it at first, but now it’s gone, and we’ve only had our direct tv service for six weeks. I haven’t changed the package, and we were not notified that it would be taken away. My husband is upset. Does this type of thing typically happen with direct tv?

The Ultimate package does not have The Outdoor Channel, never has.
The channel is in the Sports Pack, so the only package that gets it would be Premier as it includes all 5 premium packs, including the Sports Pack.
Uniquely this has been the only channel (now also Dog TV) that can be added by itself to your packages.
DirecTV did recently finish a freeview of channels as a courtesy for Covid. Now we are back to the channels we pay for. This also means for some that were getting channels they weren't supposed to, now have their authorizations corrected.
I would review channels and packages for the correct info:

Just like what the first user said Outdoor isnt included in the Ultimate package. I suggest you check the channel lineup online. It couldve been a free preview or a complementary channel (those ended recently)
You could have Outdoor channel back by:
>Adding it as a bolt on channel
>Getting the sports pack which has approx 75 channels for $15.99

@Yanazamo
Sports Pack by itself is $13.99, like Cinemax, Starz, Showtime (HBO exception at $17.99).
Last I knew Outdoor channel had increased al-a-carte cost to $4.50.

I think there was an increase in Sports pack's price but I'm not so sure about that I'll have to check first
HBO (+HBO Max) is now $14.99 though starting June

HBO lowering from $17.99 to $14.99? Interesting. Do we have a support page to reference any of these price changes? It is very unusual to have adjustments mid-year as those are normally in January.
And to be sure, this is the pricing for DirecTV? (not AT&T TV NOW or formally DIRECTV NOW)

You can check here and other websites https://about.att.com/story/2020/hbo_max.html (I used to work for att until recently too)
Ever since ATT collaborated to get HBO Max in around May or June (not sure) they've adjusted the prices so HBO (with free HBO Max) is now only 14.99 and yup this includes DirecTV

That says that HBO Max is a $14.99 value, which is added for existing subscribers of HBO, not that the cost of HBO is changing. So I will be verifying the coming bills to be sure.

I stopped working in ATT just a couple days ago and yup they also changed the cost for HBO itself to match with HBO Max's $14.99 price. If you check the upcoming bills HBO's gonna show up as either only "HBO Max" or "HBO + HBO Max"

Very nice. I apparently misread my latest bill. A few dollars back doesn't hurt.
That article was not as informative as it should have been. It should have expanded upon the drop in cost for HBO itself, not just value of HBO Max.
Thanks very much for the clarification.
