MLB Extra Innings

I cannot find a channel to watch Cincinnati Reds games through Directv Extra Innings. I read some blah blah blah that Fox and MLB were in a dispute re: Cincinnati Reds games due to a new ownership or something like that. Last year I could watch the games in the 600 channels but this year I get a message that I don't have access to that channel. This is very irritating.

Where are you looking? Extra inning channels are in the 700’s. Those channels in the 600’s are regional sports channels. Tonight’s game is on MLB EI channels 739 and 740. The Reds regular regional channel is Bally Sports Cincinnati, channel 661. Fox sold all their regional sports channels. Tonight’s game is on that channel too. I have no idea why it wouldn’t be available to you.

Hello @etta88, thanks for reaching out to us.

MLB EXTRA INNINGS can be found on MLB Channels 721 – 749. The Cincinnati Reds game was on MLB ch 739 - 740 yesterday.

Here is more information on the MLB extra innings schedule.

Please let us know if this helps.

Reds games have always been blocked in the Southeast Region, Nashville, but always redirected to a 600 channel formally know as Fox Sports regional sports Cincinnati.

I pay an additional regional sports fee every single month as I have for years. Cincinnati is considered a regional channel in my area for some unknown reason.

Bally Sports aquired   numerous sports operated channels after a long drawn out lovers quarell between multiple parties including Democrats, Sanders and Warren.

Your response was well-intented to offer support but the results were not helpful at all.

Contacting Directv is brutal. Contacting At&t puts me on high stress/stroke alert. Not an exaggeration.

Sadly, more than likely a large percentage of people would agree with me.

Go to directv.com and type in regional sports networks then click on the local regional sports networks information link and put in your zip code and it will show you what regional sports networks are available in your market area.

So your issue has nothing to do with MLB Extra Innings. If you are paying for MLB EI to watch the Reds, you are wasting your money if the MLB channels are normally blacked out. Anyway, I don’t know if it’s your regional channel or not but channel 661 is Bally Sports Cincinnati, they do carry Reds games.

FS Cincinnati, channel 661, is in fact a RSN, but just because you pay a regional sports fee, doesn’t mean you get that channel. It’s actually only available in the Premier package, or if you have the sports pack add on for $13.99/mo.

@etta88, Thanks for providing us that information.

To better assist you in this matter, please give us more information on this:
  • What channel were you trying to watch the game on?
  • What error code/message did you see when trying to access the channel?
  • What is your zip code?
In the meantime, please use this channel lookup tool to check what Regional Sports Network channels are available in your area.

I pay for MLB extra innings and also pay an unknown amount for a Sports package. Why do I not know the amount because I cannot get into my Directv account. Nothing gets me so upset like f-in At&t and anything remotely associated with these scroundles. I wait for the day the entire company either blows up and goes way down in the burning fire.

it should not take an hour to attempt to log into an account that takes money from me every single month.

I get so upset I end up crying.

Now I am picked out of my account for failed logins. Calling Directv/at&t does no good. I am told every single time my account will be updated but it never is. I can't update it as in payment method. this has been going on for over a year.

I just want to watch the Reds game. the only way I can is to drive there. How is it even possible to login into  an account the exact same way and it takes me to east (Edited per community guidelines) land and back before it will take my login credentials.

The kindest thing I can do for myself after 35 years of being a customer is to jump ship.

I am steaming mad.

It’s not AT&T’s fault that you can’t get into your account. How is it their fault?

MLB Extra Innings is only for out-of-market games.

Your in-market games are shown on Regional Sport Networks (RSN). In general you get those in Choice and above. www.directv.com/rsn

RSN fee is determined by where you live (hence what are your local teams).

Check your Regional Sports fee. (directv.com)

The Sports Pack covers over 35 RSN and specialty sport networks. It does not get you out-of-market games (those are still blacked out), but can be a cheaper way to get your in-market RSNs if you are in Entertainment or lower. It is $13.99, or less if you have any of the 4 premium movie packs since they bundle together for a built-in savings. The Premier package includes the Sports Pack along with the 4 premium movie packs.

There have been a few RSNs that have required being in a higher package and/or the Sports Pack.

If a local channel has the rights to an in-market game, then you watch it there instead of the RSN. To that point, Fox and ESPN have special rights for weekend games in the afternoon/evening.

Being blocked from your online account for too many incorrect logins is unfortunate. I would clear your cache/cookies first in your browsers. Then call DirecTV back so you can speak to their web unlock team (or whatever they call it now). Hopefully it is just a simple unlock as there have been some who needed the login completely reset because of an issue with integrating the logins for AT&T and DirecTV together.

Juniper,

I greatly appreciate your advice in the very kind manner in which you explained.  I pay for MLB extra Innings and get every game except for the Cincinnati Reds games. I could access the Reds games via my paid regional s

regional package for $9.99 a month. I have AT&T, internet service which I pay monthly and have a separate Directv account that I pay monthly. I did not bundle. Every phone I make results the same. Neither takes responsibility to provide assistance. Last night I was instructed by fake hi guy that my packaged type no longer existed. there is no option in my account that gives me a list of channels and no option to find out who I channels are in my regional sports network channels.

I just took a xanax to call customer care.

By "regional package" do you mean RSN fee? If so that is not a package (as it is not optional), but required in Choice and higher. Think of it similar to tax as charges per where you live. That would be for your in-market RSNs, so double check www.directv.com/rsn on what that gives you.

I wasn't referring to bundling between DirecTV and AT&T (sorry for any confusion). The premium packs (Sports Pack, HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime) do a 2-pack, 3-pack, etc. deal where slightly cheaper than then individual costs added together.

Even if you don't have a bundle between DirecTV and AT&T, or even no other AT&T service at all, you still may be affected by the unified login. They were moving all into one system, but this broke the login for some so they had to have the online access completely reset (not just the password) so they can set it back up.

Well your package definitely exists or you wouldn't have service. I wonder if this means you have a grandfathered package that is no longer offered. What is the exact name of your package?
