New Tegna Dispute Status?
My local NBC station is already running banners warning that access will be lost to DirectV/ UVerse subscribers on Nov. 30. This appears to be a new carriage dispute between ATT/DirectV and Tegna.
We all know how this ends-both sides will blame the other and in the end our rates will go up , just as they did after the Nexstar dispute.
Does anyone know if DirectV has put out a statement yet? In my case (Cleveland WKYC) I just need to make arrangements for next Sunday Night Football.
Thanks…

How do you get this $10 credit?

You need to log into your DTV account.

Log into your account. Usually through the official page that you can check on current carriage negotiation/disputes.
However, if it doesn't show (as happens to some), then calling to request it would be the other option.

Our ATT invoice was just made available and I see the $10 bill credit for the blackout. Now that the blackout is entering it's second month, another credit should be made available.... correct?
This statement on https://www.directv.com/support/article/000098366 seems to indicate so, yet I see no indication of this on either AT&T's nor DirecTV's site.
"If you currently have a pending blackout credit on your bill, you’ll need to wait for the next bill cycle to request a new blackout credit."

It is not obligated as channels can change at any time (they don't own the channels) so there is no 'should'. And a local or two would not expect be $10 of your bill, so the courtesy credit you already got is expected to cover more than a single month's worth.
However, not impossible they could do another one. Just seems unlikely. No channel should be worth $10 for a single month. That gets too close to the cost of a premium pack which is multiple high-value channels.

I understand that they are not obligated. I didn't imply that they were. A waiter may give you a slice of pie on your birthday though not obligated.
"And a local or two would not expect be $10 of your bill, so the courtesy credit you already got is expected to cover more than a single month's worth."
What is that monthly per subscriber amount?
"However, not impossible they could do another one. Just seems unlikely."
Kind of like they won't offer another one, but they might?
"No channel should be worth $10 for a single month."
"worth" is the value one is willing to pay.
I'll simplify my question.
Define what is meant by:
"If you currently have a pending blackout credit on your bill, you’ll need to wait for the next bill cycle to request a new blackout credit."
I had a "pending blackout credit" on my bill because I applied for one two weeks ago.
Now having received my bill, I have entered into "the next bill cycle" which will allow me to "request a new blackout credit"?

The exact cost of a single channel is not public info. However, you can ballpark by taking the amount of channels your package has compared to the package cost and divide that by a 30 day month. Should come out to so many cents a day on average.
"Now that the blackout is entering it's second month, another credit should be made available.... correct?"
That is why I responded that it wasn't obligated.
Regardless of what one is willing to pay, a single channel is not expected to be $10 cost for a single month. No matter the differences in what you and I are willing to pay for locals doesn't change what the actual cost is. It may be worth $10 or more for you, but in reality would not expect to be that much of your bill.
As for the "pending" question, even if negotiations are continuing, DirecTV will not submit another credit in their system during that bill. It is not a guarantee that one would be available next month, but any requests for one before then would be guaranteed denied. So means you have to wait before making the request to have a chance at another credit, but not a guarantee the request will be approved.

So in answer to my question on my interpretation of their statement, your answer is that you don't know.

The answer is you cannot submit a request until the next statement. A request is not a guarantee you get requested credit. That seems self explanatory, not a "don't know".

Sounds like the same (Edited per community guidelines) contest between Tegna and DirectTV and its lowly customers.
We know who wins and who loses.
It did say it was a one-time credit of $10 which I think is pathetic. If u watch shows on your local channels or specifically on those 2 channels u can’t get right now, and we’re going into 6 WEEKS w/o those channels, it is a BIG DEAL.
We missed some of the football games -
GO JAGS! and now FINALLY new shows are starting after the writers strike, but we can’t watch them here! Cuz we still don’t get our 2 local channels - NBC or ABC !!!
C’mon?!?!?!

Tegna can return the feed at any time and they could have left it on.

So I just got the official word that the Cleveland Browns playoff game will not be available locally to DirecTV subscribers , as the NBC affiliate here is a Tegna station.
So I have subscribed to Peacock for $2 a month to watch the game, and will be canceling DirecTV. Too bad OTA antenna is not a good option where I live.
Thanks to all involved at DirecTV and Tegna for your greed in driving frustrated customers away. Other than live sports, I see so many options for news and entertainment available for free to anyone with a smart TV or phone.
Not sure what DirecTV is offering me that justifies continually increasing monthly costs, since stations can drop due to carriage disputes at any time. But to each his/her own I guess.
So long…

How is DTV being greedy trying to minimize the next price increase? Not all areas have internet let alone broadband.

Both DirecTV and Tegna are negotiating in their company interests. Tegna wants to raise costs, DirecTV is at the stance it is an unacceptable increase. If DirecTV caves to Tegna, then our bills get raised that much more. And Tegna is the one who pulled the channels away with their demanded increase. In this situation, I say Tegna is the greedy one, not so much DirecTV.
Ok so you got a $2 a month option. Did you log into your DirecTV account (or called) to take advantage of their one-time courtesy credit of $10 for the situation?
Oh, and channels can be dropped at any time no matter what pay TV provider you go with. All providers go through this since they don't own the channels.
