No Signal!

I got home today with the TV in the bedroom saying no signal. it was working fine last night! It snowed, so i wiped the snow off the dish, still no luck... I checked the HDMI cable, The Input, and the Main cable box in the living room. Why? Help!

Most cases if the TV is saying no signal it means the input/source is no longer on the correct HDMI port that the DTV receiver is plugged into.  Most TVs default to the ANT input if they loose power.

The message "No Signal" is from the TV, not the DirecTV box itself. Means it recognizes no active signal on that specific input/source. There are some things to check.

Check that you are on the correct HDMI input/source. (HDMI-1, HDMI-2, etc.).

Verify HDMI cord is secure, free of debris, on both ends.

Make sure the DirecTV box is powering on in the first place.

Change HDMI cord and/or port on the TV if available.

Try another TV and/or DirecTV box.

Turn off TV's HDMI-CEC (if it has it).

Don't use a 'smart' power strip.

If all connections are good, try red button reset on the DirecTV box. TV's generally don't have a reset button, so you would have to unplug power cord for a minute or two for a proper reset.

Hopefully that gets it working, or at least narrows down where the problem is.
