No video using lightning digital av adapter
When trying to use the above adapter I end up receiving “HDMI NOT SUPPORTED. When using other apps everything works okay. How do I or does DTV make this work?

Working as intended. The DirecTV app does not support lightning adapter/apple airplay or any other method to cast from mobile to TV.
The app is for viewing on mobile only. To watch on TV, you pay for that TV authorized on the service (i.e. upgrade and add a receiver to that TV).
