On demand feea

I used to be able to record multiple seasons of a shows for free. Shows on channels that I am already paying for. Now I am being charged $2.99 an episode, for previous seasons. I am not sure what changed and why. I never got an email or any notice. I understand having to pay for shows on PPV, but if you started watching a show in the 3rd season, on a channel that is in your package, I don't think you should be charged extra to watch seasons 1 and 2. I did not have to before. Can you tell me when and why this started?

The content providers have decided to charge for some of their On Demand programs, DTV is only collecting it.

Ok thank you. It doesn't seem right. But it is what it is. :)

They own it and can do what they want with it.

What show(s)?  What network?

Shannon02, Yes you are absolutely right.

litzdog911, examples of networks are FX-Fargo, NBC-Quantum Leap, ABC-Seal Team. These are just random ones that I checked on. The current seasons are free, the previous seasons are $2.99 an episode. I believe it is the same for all.  They did not use to do this, but now they do.

My husband was watching a tv series on FX. He missed the last few episodes of the final season as he was away. He tried to finish the series  with the on demand. But the time frame was last season so now they are charging. Though I am guilty of binge watching once in a while, he is not.

And again, though Shannon02 is absolutely right, it is just frustrating. Things are getting more and more expensive. Can't afford it. I also the costs are going up for the providers as well. It is what ii is.  I appreciate all your inputs. i wonder if it is the same across the board, or if the more expensive packages allow the on demand for free with channels included in your package.

On Demand come from the channels servers and that is where the charges are added so it doesn't matter what package you have just which On Demand channels you have access to.
