Opinion of Real Company's Customer Service after three years
I have been subscribed to Direct TV for three years and was initially impressed with the wide range of channels and services available. However, I have recently faced two disruptions in channels/networks that are standard streaming services found in cable and internet providers in my area. I am also disappointed that Direct TV does not update customers on the details of lawsuits regarding the loss of channel content. The same message has been sent for the past three months. What happened to actual Customer Service? Time to shop.

All TV providers have this problem it is just DTV turn with Nexstar just as Dish had in Jan and is AFAIK still going on. AFAIK there are no lawsuits filed to update. All content providers send the same programs to all TV providers.

@MJeanCannon
TV providers must negotiate a new carriage agreement as those are not indefinite. Unfortunately, Nexstar wants to increase costs beyond what DirecTV finds acceptable. And if their costs go up so do our bills. Local channel affiliate owners have been doing this more often in recent years.
What lawsuits? Nothing entitles you to those channels. As TV providers do not own the channels they all have a clause that channels/programming may change at any time. As such no TV provider (DirecTV or otherwise) is obligated to provide you those channels.
Would you prefer DirecTV to cave to Nexstar and just allow a bigger cost increase? Would you find those higher bills the "actual" customer service you want? Time to look at the whole picture, not just "muh channels are gone where is lawsuit!).
Time to shop will not save you only for the fact all TV providers go through these negotiations. Not a single one makes you immune. So try a regular antenna to get the free broadcast.
Though the only update expected would be when a new agreement is figured out, you can educate yourself on the situation: https://www.directv.com/tvpromise/

According to an article I read DTV has filed a lawsuit against Nexstar and an FCC complaint about their management of White Night and Mission as new ways to get around FCC rules about how many channel they can own.

Oh, the lawsuit that DirecTV filed. Tracking now. Rare to see another customer mention something outside the average viewer perspective. I am pleasantly surprised.

I was looking to see if Dish had settled with Nexstar and came across it, I don't think the OP knew about it. As of July 3 the latest I could find no.
