Paramount +

How do I get the new series 1883, that you have advertised for over a month. Now I hear I can't get it with my direct TV service. WHY advertise if I can't get it without some extra TV thing that I don't  have a clue about. I have NO desire to become tech savvy, I am just an old lady that wants to watch tv.

Paramount+ is an internet streaming service like netflix so you need the app on a smart TV or a streaming device like a firestick connected to the TV and you then need to go to their website to subscribe to it.

Like all companies they bought ad space on the channels DTV provides.  DTV has no control over what the channels sends then so DTV wasn't advertising it.

Paramount Plus (+) is a streaming-only service. It has absolutely nothing to do with DirecTV as is provided by Paramount directly. DirecTV has no control over where Paramount chooses to advertise their streaming service.

Doesn't matter if you are tech savvy or not. Paramount + is not through DirecTV or any other TV provider as it is a separate service.

I would also argue that using a streaming device is less tech savvy then understanding how to use an internet forum. That is because you can browse it similar to how you browse the menu on your TV provider (be DirecTV or someone else). If you only understood antenna TV that would be a different matter.

I still stand by that if you can use the internet, you can use a streaming-device. Nothing "tech savvy" about that as the basics are common for the last 20 years. Like going from an audio cassette/video cassette to a CD/DVD it is a very easy transition. Don't let age make you go "new (if you consider a couple decades being new) is a scary monster!"

Brand is DirecTV, not "direct TV". Only one T there. Mentioning so you don't get caught by any scams.

When we watched 1883 on channel 241, it is a repeat of last season.
Why?

DTV has no control over what the channel sends them.
