Parents charged more than on their closing bill - can't seem to find the documentation.

Absolutely so disgusted in DirecTV.  I called to get some clarification about my parents' closing bill.  The closing bill you sent my parents is FOR AN AMOUNT HIGHER THAN THEIR BILL WAS WHEN THEY WERE CUSTOMERS!!!!  My parents have taken notes, kept order numbers, dates and the ones that show DirecTV in the wrong they "can't seem to find".  Preying on my senior fixed-income parents...

Compare the final bill to the prior one. What exactly is different?

 

Look for any discounts that may have ended or possibly one-time charges to clear the account such as an Early Cancellation Fee (ECF if they had time left on an agreement), unbilled PPVs (if any were found on an access card upon return), or Non Return Fee (NRF) if they didn't get all the required boxes back. Also check previous balance and payment to see if the prior bill was paid in full.

 

Your parents are not being "preyed" upon. Being seniors or fixed-income has no affect on their account. DirecTV has no such access to such status and their billing has nothing to do with it.

 

If the bill still isn't making sense, you could post the line items and other experienced customers (and the occasional employee off the clock) could help make sense of it. Otherwise since this is a public forum, your option would be to call DirecTV to review the bill with them.
