By "won't go away" do you mean it is stuck on the screensaver and will not go back to your program at all? Or you are just trying to find a way to disable it completely?
If it is stuck, then details would be helpful.
What model box(es)?
Are all affected or just certain ones?
Have you tried any troubleshooting? (red button reset, pulling power for a min, etc.)
Did anything happen or change before the issue started?
Is your setup connected to your home internet? (affects which type you get)
However, if your issue is the latter and you are trying to just turn it off, that you cannot do. There is no option to disable it.
You cannot turn off the screen saver. There has never been such an option.
Disconnecting from internet reverts from the advertisement/landscape photo screensaver back to the basic company logo screensaver. That is not turning off the screensaver itself.

unfortunately, there’s no way to remove the screensaver. What is your receiver model? Im
guessing it is one of the older standalone HDDVR receivers.

Turn the receiver off for one minuet and then back on. You could also disconnect your receiver from the internet.

@Juniper It can be turned off. The only way is to disconnect your box from the internet completely and permanently.

That doesn’t make a difference. Your fact stops the advertisements that appear on the Guide for on-demand and PPV.
