Payment made and service interrupted

I paid my bill, received a confirmation email and everything. 24 hours later my service has been interrupted. How is that possible? I’ve been a customer for nearly 20 years, I have never experienced something this frustrating. 
Any help or advice with this issue would be much appreciated.

Call DIRECTV (number in my greeting below) and say ‘billing’ to the robot. Explain that you had paid your bill prior and still haven’t been restored. They should be able to refresh your equipment and trigger the change.

Thanks, I’ll give that a try. If that doesn’t work, I’ll just wait until they open at 8:00, then give them a call.

Did you pay via the DirecTV website or another method? (i.e. bill pay from your bank). If the latter, payment can take up to 3 business days to post to the account when made by via  3rd party method.

I'll assume there was another post that got removed. Otherwise after being told to call and responding with "if that doesn't work I'll give them a call..." doesn't make sense.
