Picture quality decline?

Has anyone noticed maybe in past few weeks to a month, the picture quality on Directv has declined?   It seems more compressed than normal.  This feels like it could be beginning of the end of the hardware satellite.  Did they flip over to a streaming satellite feature with a low bit rate?

Nope.  The channel providers send their programing to one of several uplink centers that sends it to the sats that sends it to you in near real time.

Ok I just have noticed the compression is extra crazy lately, probably to save bandwidth, just disappointing to see the picture quality drop

DTV has the same bandwidth they had before so there is no need to save any.  Your dish may need to be aligned.

DirecTV's picture quality has stayed the same. If yours has gone down, then something is affecting your specific service.

Models of boxes and TVs?

Does each have the issue?

Have you seen this with all channels or just certain ones?

Possible alignment issue, checked your satellite readings?

Other troubleshooting tried?
