DTV can't fix a problem with the feed from NBC4

Don’t know who these experts that chime in are but they always try and blame trouble on someone else.

@rdslone , DirecTV can only deliver the signal they get from the station. 99% of these issues originate with the station.

@DIRECTVhelp , this post is NOT private. And taking posts private doesn't provide help for others with the same issue.

Not sure where problem comes from but it is 100% of the time a DIRECTV issue when service being paid for is not provided. If an automaker has a problem with a part on the car it is there problem to resolve, they don’t ask me to chase the provider of said part.

DTV doesn't make or own the car.  They only rebroadcast the channels sent to them.

So if the issue is with the signal provided to them shouldn't DTV work with the signal provider to fix the issue instead of just ignoring the fact that what DTV is providing to their customers is less than acceptable?

DTV should be working with their signal provider to resolve this issue rather than ignoring it which is apparently what they are doing.

@Wannabe32 , usually DirecTV does work with local stations when they have signal issues. But DirecTV can't fix them. The station has to fix them.

I talked to a Directv rep who assured me that their engineering department is working on issue with NBC4.

Here is what I received from NBC4:

Thanks for your note, and for being a loyal NBC-4 viewer.

DirecTV owns the fiber optic connection between our facilities at NBC-4 and DirecTV.  They alerted us that they had lost that fiber connection a few weeks ago.  The claim was the problem has been referred to their engineering department but I’m unclear what action, if any, they’ve taken to resolve the problem.  Unfortunately because DirecTV ordered, installed and pay for the circuit, it’s their responsibility to have the carrier fix it.

I will forward your concern to our contact at DirecTV, but that’s about the only recourse we have from our end.
