What happens when you try to watch your rsn? It could be just a blackout of the game you're trying to watch. Also do you mean the "sports pack" $13.99 a month or just  your rsn?

Regional Sports Network is included in the Premier Package. I have spent hours and hours on the pone with Directv Techs and they can't figure out what happened, We got the package up until the 28th of Jul, Yes some things are blacked out, but not all of the channels.

Your area's rsn is included in choice and above, the sports pack ( all the rsns) are in the premier package. The sports pack doesn't give you out of market games you need the sports subscription for that, as in mlb  extra innings for baseball. So again what happens when you tune to those channels? What are you trying to view?

The Sports Pack (included in the Premier package) includes over 35 RSN and specialty sport networks.

However, it does not provide out-of-market professional games. Those are still blacked out. For those other games, you would need the seasonal sport subscription (only in-season though). On occasion a local channel will get the rights the game, which supersedes Regional.

Check www.directv.com/rsn for what you are allowed to watch on the RSNs that is in-market. Compare that against what you are trying to watch.

Yes, I understand the RSN programming, however we got the whole package until 27Jul and then it went to just a few channels. One strange programming is we get the SFO Giants on three other channels than the SFO channel, so what is that. We also get Oklahoma. Anyhow I give up, I am paying enough having the Premier package.I have been with Direct TV for 20yrs.Funny, when I asked for a Loyalty Discount, I got a bit NO NO NO.

More important things in life going on right now, than to hassle for a few t v channels ALOHA

DirecTV doesn't set blackout rules, no TV provider does. The leagues (MLB, NBA, etc.) with the established markets for RSNs and the specific teams designated if in-market (on RSN, Local, or specifically for MLB FOX/ESPN for late Saturday/Sunday games). So Sports Pack by just add-on or Premier package which includes it do not change that. Those additional channels are more for college games, Regional events, and occasionally pre/post game coverage of professional games.

As for discounts, that is pretty much the answer to most customers right now. Apparently there has been an issue with too much in discounts (or also possibly excessive courtesy credits), running a concern of customers operating at a loss. So their CEO announced months ago (before Covid-19) that discount offers would be pulled back. As customers we hope that after the situation is resolved (and problem accounts weeded out) that discount offers will be back, though in moderation. People are starting to learn that TV is just luxury entertainment and discounts are not permanent or there to make service affordable. Enjoy them when they are there, but they are temporary perks.
