Satellite service mixed with app in different location
I have been asked to relocate for work. We will be keeping our current home on West Coast and buying another in the South. Obviously, I do not want to pay for two accounts. I would like to keep current satellite service on West Coast due to questionable internet speeds and use App in other house (Fiber available).
Is this allowed? Would all of our channels and premiums be available in both locations?
How much are the Gemini Air boxes if I'd like to use the remote?
(When I asked about it a couple of years ago, I believe they said I would have to go with DirecTV Stream.)

You would be better off DirecTV Stream service. Using the app out-of-home with your DVR and satellite account has lots of limitations. You won't be able to access your DVR recordings. You won't get local stations. And you'll get a subset of your DirecTV satellite channels via streaming with the App.

You can't use DirecTV satellite devices with their DirecTV Stream. Totally different services. If you subscribed to DirecTV Stream's "bring your own device" plan, you can cancel at any time. And you can use Roku, FireStick, Apple TV, etc.

Thank you for the response, litzdog, this is what I was wondering about. If I wanted to stay with Satellite at old house and try the app remotely at new home, would a Gemini Air device work at the new location? Or would I need to use a Fire stick or Roku type device?

AFAIK the Gemini Air is only for use with DTV streaming service and will not work with DTV sat service.

Satellite service is for one residence. This is because local channels, Regional Sports, and taxes are based on your actual home. The app will only get limited service as not intended to get around that, just a convenience when on the go.
One option is you can have two accounts, but to suspend one at a time as needed (up to 6 months within a 12 month period). That way you only pay normal cost for the active account, and $5 monthly for the suspended one if they are still charging that (was added by AT&T but I heard there was consideration of getting rid of the fee
