In the last 6 months or so we went from 67.99 to now 71.99 which is OK everything goes up. My problem is with the increase is we are loosing lots for channels, we used to get both Hallmark 312/565, lost 245, 252 that I noticed ,,,, may be more. Why is this. We have been a customer of Directv for so many years, we are both senior living on a fix income. I don't think that is fair.

Channel 245 (TNT) is available on every package that DIRECTV offers at the moment. What is your current package? And what error code are you getting? Seems like you may have a satellite signal loss rather than a package issue.

Channel TNT (245) is in all but the Family package.
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries (565) used to only be in the Movies Extra Pack (previously called the HD Extra Pack). As of a few years ago it is in the packages Select, Entertainment, Preferred Xtra, and Premier.
Unless you have changed your package, then most likely you are getting a technical issue. With some more info we can help figure out what is going on. Better than claiming "no fair" without facts.
What model boxes?
Are all boxes affected or just certain ones?
What happens when you go to the channels? (symptoms, error message, etc.)
Have you done any troubleshooting?
As the $4 difference, well there is the annual price adjustment. Goes into effect in January, which we see on our January or February bill depending on our bill dates. Increased costs from networks. Simply put, DirecTV's costs go up then so do our bills.

I feel your pain! You haven't seen anything yet as far as price increases go --The problem was caused by moving channels to up scale the price by D*tv.
Call 1-800-531-5000 and ask how do i get the channels I want is the best you can do.
