Someone hacking receiver

Someone is listening to my conversions through my receiver. I hear a sound within my receiver, but when i unplug the auto it stops but no sound. What can i do?

ummm, i dont think this is possible, there is no microphone in the receiver

what your hearing is the hard drive , there is no camera or microphone in any receiver

There is no microphone in the receiver, so there is not someone "hacking" your receiver.

 

Normally the only sounds heard from the box would be the Hard Drive Disk (HDD) spinning or a cooling fan. Shouldn't be loud though. I would make sure your box is in a well ventilated area and that the vents are free from dust build-up. What model is the box?

It is possible. I will not get into my story because it's currently on going. Read the story about Cox Cable spies on user's through their cable boxes on Tech Dirt. They can see and hear you. Also hear through the remote. Cops can also, especially if you don't have a cell phone they cannot access. There's all kinds of things going on that most people don't know about. Look up Stingrays/dirt boxes too.

It is not possible. DirecTV boxes have no camera or microphone, not built for voice controls.

Please leave tin foil hat stores in the fiction section. Thread requested to be closed for being several years old and is nonsense.
