Hey, @DMilner, we'd be glad to clarify your streaming concerns.
At the moment we don't have any information on what changes will be made as a result of Adobe Flash Player's end of life, but we'd recommend reaching out about this again closer to that date, in December. No doubt our information will be more readily available by then.
Let us know if you have anymore questions, thanks for choosing AT&T!

I am also concerned about the solution AT&T / DirecTV will provide once Adobe flash player ends on December 31, 2020. It would be reassuring to customers to have an official response from the company as the expiration date is approaching soon. I would hate to have a disruption in services as the ability to stream programs, including live sports, is the main reason I signed up for DirecTV. I hope customers receive information in the near future.

How about a prompt response *now* regarding Flash? It no longer works on the latest version of Safari — 14.0. It's also become more problematic with Chrome. Amazing that Directv has done NOTHING to prepare for the death of Flash. I have called tech support several times regarding this issue, and I either get reps who deny it's an issue or they agree it's an issue but offer no solution. I can no longer stream Directv shows in my package, and no one in customer support seems to care. It's like they want customers to go elsewhere.

There was mention that they do have plans regarding the end of Flash, but for whatever reason the details are not ready to become public and is not yet announced to their call center agents either. So you will need to use another browser other than Safari for now until more info is provided.
Flash support doesn't cease until the end of the year, so still some time left for any changes or announcements before that happens. All we can do is keep an ear out for now.

They probably are introducing a new app and don't have any plans to fix the current problem. Sometime before 12/31/2020 they will have everyone upgrade to a new app with a built in viewer and the need for flash player will go away.

Tik-tock Tick-tock! This is why customer service ratings have taken a nose dive for DirecTV. Lack of information, especially on such a BIG topic. If AT&T is going to be able to get any money for DirecTV if the government ever approves a sale, then they'd better start providing better support.

what a complete and utter FAILURE by AT&T.
in the last 4 hours i've been passed along to at least a dozen people for whom english is NOT their first language. i couldnt care less where people were born, but if AT&T is going to put someone on a support phone line they'd better make SURE they can be understood. what does the A in AT&T stand for?? plenty of people on this continent need work.
that aside, today i was thrown back into the queue numerous times because the agents were utterly incompetent or just had no idea what i was talking about. i had been on one call for over an hour when they disconnected me.
the chat agent, "Stan", flat out lied thru his teeth and told me its just a server issue on their end and they're working on it. that (Edited per community guidelines) had no idea what i was talking about.
AT&T one of the largest communication companies on the planet and they don't have a (Edited per community guidelines)ution yet for a WELL KNOWN and PRE ANNOUNCED issue that's been coming down the pike for YEARS? that's pathetic and unacceptable.
then, to lie about it and/or keep the tech help staff in the dark and leaving the customer just (Edited per community guidelines) is criminal. i want my money back immediately.
some (Edited as per community guidelines) in India just told me "you can just download Flash anytime and install it"...
guess what, "Tony" from Mumbai? this is what you get trying to "just Download Flash anytime"...
Adobe Flash Player EOL General Information Page
Since Adobe no longer supports Flash Player after December 31, 2020 and blocked Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning January 12, 2021, Adobe strongly recommends all users immediately uninstall Flash Player to help protect their systems.
Some users may continue to see reminders from Adobe to uninstall Flash Player from their system. See below for more details on how to uninstall Flash Player.
UPDATED: January 13, 2021
thats what appears on the flash download page. you can NO LONGER DOWNLOAD IT.
it is what it is, but AT&T has FAILED its customers CATASTROPHICALLY. Someone should DEFINITELY lose their job. this issue has been known about for YEARS and they've done nothing.
i want my monthly fees pro-rated to reflect that service delivery failure, and AT&T should be made to announce that they no longer offer the ability to stream to computers because at this point its just a lie, yet they advertise that they can everyday. sounds like FRAUD to me. i wonder if the US attorney generals office is aware?

While AT&T/DirecTV could have been more forthcoming by answering questions about its solution for browser streaming after Flash's EOL, the solution is now in place.
If you're using Chrome, you will get a prompt to install the DirecTV Player. Yes, I know, you already installed the Player before Flash's EOL. However, this is a newer version of the Player. Install this new version. Close then reopen chrome. Select the program you want to stream. It should start streaming.
My only guess is that the new version of the DirecTV Player now has code that it lacked before the Flash EOL.
I am not an employee of AT&T/DirecTV. This experience is entirely my own. I discovered the solution is in place by simply opening Chrome, navigating to the DirecTV guide, and checking to see a solution is in place.
I'm surprised people haven't done this for themselves.

DirecTV online player has worked since December without Flash player. Firefox isn't really a good platform for streaming video content....too much lag and stuttering. I personally prefer Chrome. Haven't had any issues with Chrome. Edge also works well. It's too bad that AT&T/DirecTV are so bad at communicating information to their customers about this change.

Neither Edge or Chrome work for me. Blinks quickly after selecting watch where you expect to see the loading clock. Just leaves a blank screen
Tried disabling all extensions and deleting cookies after restarting browser.
Any new ideas? Don't think I'm the only one.

ESPN 206 worked

It has worked well for me since January1 one both Edge and Chrome. I like not having to activate Adobe Flash each time I want to stream something and I don't miss the never-ending parade of Flash updates.

Windows 10
Edge browser
LIVE TV - tests
WatchTV - not live shows
Looks like there is nothing a user can do to correct it. It seems that once you can get it working it is still hit or miss whether it will actually play. Seems to work for others and seems not to work for others. It does seem like the load/authorization mechanism of the Directv software is flaky.
I only hope this holds up!!!
