You need to contact DTV to see if they will still honor the deal they had when they moved it from the lower packages in Dec to restore it to customers that wanted it.

A&E channels, including History, were removed from some lower packages a while ago. Per the Terms of Service, channels and what packages they are in are subject to change.
At this time, The History Channel is in Choice and higher. If you are in Family, Select, or Entertainment you would need to raise your package.

Yes, at a time, you were supposed to ‘opt-in’ for those channels (Dec 2021). I recall DIRECTV had this posted everywhere for several months, and us at the forums actively informed people about the need to opt-in for such channels before the end date.

My question is does the OP have the right package and the channel is having a technical issue, or did they only now (months after the fact) find out it was removed from the lower packages?
If the former, with more info we can help with troubleshooting guidance. If the latter, then it wasn't an important channel to begin with as hasn't been watched in a long time.
