They lied!!!!!

I am finding out here lately after having been with them for about 4 months that they including the installer have lied to me from day one!   I asked both the people that I initially talked to when signing up with DirecTV and the installer who came to my house about the weather affected the service.  All that I talked to said it has gotten a lot better than it used to be and should have absolutely no issues with bad weather. Well a few weeks after having the service installed and using it I hot rain in my area and sure enough so signal.  So call after call they all NOW tell me the same thing that in bad weather expect services to have issues and they have no idea why I was told I won't have issues with bad weather!   I was previously with Cox and i regret that decision  of switching from Cox to DirecTV.  Only reason I did was because I was looking to save money on cable service .   What a mistake that was!   Once my contract is over I will definitely be doing away with DirecTV!!!!

Heavy rain and snow will always affect satellite TV services. It's simple science. But if you're having this issue with just light rain, then most likely your dish is not optimally aligned. Or water is penetrating an exterior coax cable connection. A service visit can fix that.

Nature of satellite service can be affected by weather. But as @litzdog911 mentions it shouldn't be affected by light weather, so the concern is either the dish is not optimally aligned or water is getting into where it shouldn't.

Call DirecTV 1-800-531-5000. They have a 90 day worry free guarantee covering the install done. Even if you might be a few days over, they may still cover it as this is the initial install and wanting make sure you start off on the right foot.
