You don't as that is for OTA channels on your TV tuner and if you do have an OTA antenna connected to the TV you need to check your TV manual on how to do it.
Channel auto scan? That wouldn't be DirecTV. That would be what you would do on the TV set to check for local channels with a traditional antenna, on the antenna (ANT) input.
