TV doesn't support content protection
My HD DVR DirecTV receiver is connected to a HD TV and a Sony Home theater receiver. The receiver is connected to my home network through the DirecTV sourced N band antenna.
When I download movies, I get the error statement...
" Your TV does not support this program's content protection. Replacing your HDMI cable with component cables will allow you to watch this movie."
What gives? What do I need to do to watch my video on demand programs in HD?
Thanks in advance...

Is the HD DVR's HDMI output connected directly to the HDTV?
What brand/model HDTV? How old is it?

Thanks for the quick response litzdog911 !!!
I think I've solved my own problem. To answer your question, the plasma is a Pioneer PDP-4340HD and is about 4 years old. The connection is....
I have one connection direct from the satellite receiver to the TV connected through component cables. This is the set-up for "just watchin' TV" and is configured as such with the Harmony. This set up gives me the error code.
I have another configuration which connects the satellite receiver through the Home Theater Receiver (Sony) to the TV through HDMI's. This is the "watching movies" configuration. This set up WORKS !!!
Thanks for your response...

Note that you'll also see that message if the Sony AVR is off because the DVR cannot determine what's connected to its HDMI port. This causes the HDCP copy inhibit flag to fail, triggering the error you saw. Leaving the Sony AVR powered ON might be another workaround when you don't want to use the AVR's surround audio.

You can prove Litzdog's theory (with which I agree) by unplugging the HDMI cable from the back of the Directv receiver then running the component output. You'll find that it now works.
In case you didn't understand why, the HDMI port, when connected, seeks a response to it's copy protection query. When the device at the other end of the cable is off, the HDMI smells a copy rat and shuts down all output. Thus the HDCP error.
As an aside, I see a lot of posts from folks who have the "plain TV" setup and the "good TV" setup using the sound system. If you had me look at your system, I'd disconnect the plain system and use the good system all the time. Even the dialog from the news benefits from good speakers, and the sound system/speakers on the best TV is only slightly better than junk grade.
