TV goes into stand by mode

Why does my tv go into stand by mode after being on the same channel for a few hours? I do not have it set on power saver mode and it just started doing this about a month ago. Please help me fix this!

We know how important is to get your service working in the right way and we can help you to get this issue fixed. May I know if this issue is happening in more than one channel? 

Are you getting an error code in the screen? 

Also, you can try to reset your receiver to see if this fixes the issue. You can click in Reset your DIRECTV receiver, so you can find all the steps to complete this troubleshooting.

What model boxes?

Happens on all or just certain ones?

Verify you are not plugged into a "smart" power strip.

Turn off your TV's HDMI-CEC (if it has it).

Try toggling the power saver on, exit out, go back in and toggle it back off.

Red button reset.

Unplug power for a minute as that clears residual memory, in case some bad data has the feature stuck. Be aware this clears the guide data which should be fully reloaded within 24-48hrs.
