TV INACTIVITY TIMER
My wife and I wll binge watch shows and movies without using the remote for periods of time. The tv then stops our shows with the flying Directv logo on the screen. Then we may have to get up to get the remote.
We also leave the tv on for company for our dogs while we are gone from home. We get home to find the tv off and the flying logo on.
I have read the same complaints from 2011. I would think that Directv would fix this problem in 11 years to date. Is there a fix or work around to better satisfy me and other customers?

@Lcromley unfortunately there is no workaround or fix to prevent the DIRECTV flying banner from interrupting your TV viewing. It happened to me constantly on my HR24 receiver, which is why I learned to start using the remote a bit more often to prevent it from occurring.
If in any case you were referring to the receiver automatically turning off after a few hours, this can be turned off in the Settings for Energy Saving. Just turn that feature OFF and it will no longer automatically turn off.

There is no option to turn off the screen saver. Certainly see the request every now and again over the years, but so far no change.
As there is a new co-owner for DirecTV, it is hoped that there will be innovation again into the equipment. I would certainly like to see them update this either to having it be optional or at least have the capability to change the time on when it happens.

Why would there be a screensaver if the program is not paused? As stated the power saver mode will return the receiver to standby mode after 4 hours of non use of the remote and can be turned off.
