If the DirecTV box shuts down after 4 hours, that can be turned off. That setting is called POWER SAVER. What cannot be turned off is the SCREEN SAVER.
However if it is the TV set itself shutting down after 4 hours, then they will need to check their TV manual.

you cant its part of the energy star compliance it wouldnt matter what channel your on it will still happen
