TV5 Monde "French Television Channel" We would like to see Directv include this channel in their International TV lineup.

I was hoping that Directv customers that would see this post and are interested in having a French channel would also make a request to Directv.

I totally agree. It's bizarre that Directv offers so many other languages and not French. We've just switched and this is a huge disappointment.

Completely and utterly agree.  I want French TV!

DirecTV has a new co-owner. With that transition, plus the current situation regarding a in-country network going away, it is likely that negotiating for an international channel is of low priority. Especially since the channel discussed was under a consortium that parted ways with DirecTV a couple years ago.

With the world in flux (All the repercussions from the pandemic, current international tensions, and even in-country channel disputes), I wouldn't expect any new international options in the near future.

I just moved from somewhere with XFinity to somewhere with DirectTV and am extremely disappointed to find that I can't watch TV5Monde or pay extra to add the station to the contract.  I am also upset that if I subscribe to Sling's French package, apparently I can't watch it on a regular TV. I really hate the idea of watching French movies and shows like Echappees Belles, Des Racines et Des Ailes and Tendences on my phone.  Much of the beauty of these excellent shows resides in the details which are lost on a small device.  Also, they cannot be shared or recorded for more than a short period.   

I also would like TV5MONDE to be available. If all the other streaming services, why not DirecTV?

DirecTV is not a streaming service. It is a satellite TV provider. To get an international channel they have to get a carriage agreement and pay for a channel. If there is not enough value for the business to go through that hassel then they don't even bother.
