two accounts at the same service address

this question was asked 3 years ago, with new technology, why hasn't this been changed? I need two separate accounts at the same address. With more adults moving in with each other or with their parents, why hasn't a solution been pursued? Do not want 2 receivers, just 2 accounts.

Satellite dish goes on the building and then cabled to all the rooms. It is built as one service per address. If your home is split into A and B or 1/2, or something similar, to where it is counted as two separate addresses then you can do another account.

A key consideration is once installed, all the equipment except the boxes become property of the homeowner. And since it is $7 monthly for each additional TV, that is a lot cheaper than another $100+ bill.

I suspect since sports viewing markets, allowed locals, and taxes paid are based on address that having 2 accounts with the same address would look suspiciously like some sort of fraud. But in the end, this is how satellite service is regulated. It is one account per address with no sign of that ever changing.

I know the blah, blah, blah reasons, but that is not a solution. Many homes, including mine, have two separate buildings with the same address,  but different people living in each one. They want to be responsible for their own account, not share even if cheaper. I don't try to share with my neighbors. Nor do I share my cell phone account with others I live with. It could be done if someone with foresight would look at it.

You asked "why" (the reasons) and you were given a realistic perspective. So you asked for the "blah blah" as you put it.

The solution is having both be a separate address, even if same building. Otherwise, an additional TV on your account is $7 each which is the much cheaper way to go.

Sharing with neighbors is not allowed as that is account sharing. Your neighbors would have their own residence and address.

Sorry but this is satellite TV which is physically installed one account per address. For what you want you need a different service. Just have to deal with it.

No, it is not a "neighbor". Same address, connected house, relative. The solution I have found is to use Direct tv for one and a different service for the other, so Direct TV misses out.

You know the reasons why DirecTV is one account per address, which is Federally regulated. I get you don't like the answer. And yes sharing a residence and being neighbors is very different things. So DirecTV isn't missing out as they operate within the rules.

The solution you 'found' seems fairly obvious. Hard line services are one account per residence. If you desire something else, then you get something else. No matter how much you don't like the situation, this is how the industry is set and regulated.

If you are so worried about DTV then there is DTV via internet AKA DTV streaming.
