Upgrade Direct TV player
I am using a new (2021) MacBook Pro . When I try to stream shows from the direct tv website it present a button to "upgrade Direct TV player". I attempt this to no avail. I have tried multiple times. I have also called customer service no less than 5 times. Each is a long painful process on hold. One time they tried to transfer me to their "apple team". I was sent to the Apple main support number.
If the problem is that the player requires flash or is not compatible with certain hardware configurations, could someone from DirectTV/ATT just say this already?? In searching this database, it seems like this has been happening for years. I cannot imagine how much valuable employee time has been wasted not to mention the time of the paying customers like me that have been yanked around. Just give us a fix or state that there is no fix so we can all move on already .

It used to require flash before that shutdown support. This is their official support page for some basic info.

Thanks. I tried this page already. It tells you how to stream on an I-phone, Ipad or tablet but not laptop.

You can check how to watch DIRECTV movies and shows on a computer and also, further information to complete the process with the DIRECTV Player.
Also, make sure that you're meeting the requirements to be able to watch DIRECTV on a browser.

hey daniel. I run in to the same problem also. macbook user here. called directv. was put on hold forever. called back. then sent to apple support line. smh. please fix directv. please fix!!
