We are missing channels after changing our package!

I changed my package, because I was paying a total of $307 a month. I called and talked to a gentleman about my package.  I told him that I didn’t want any of my husband sports channels removed!  Well my husband is really upset, because sometimes he can see a game or two and then other times, he gets the 771 error code. He said he doesn’t get 207, 208, 213 & all the 665 channels!  Plus I just lost my 307, Oxygen and IFC 333. I can’t remember It all, but those three channels I like. I told him that he could remove all of the Spanish channels instead, because we don’t speak it or watch it!!  He could barely speak English himself!  This is crazy!!

Channels in the 600s are Regional Sport Networks (RSN). If you are in Choice and above you get the ones that are in-market: www.directv.com/rsn

 

You must have the Sports Pack (or be in Premier) to get the out-of-market RSNs. However, professional games are still blacked out. Only way to get out of market professional games is with the seasonal sport subscription (MLB Extra Innings, NHL Center Ice, etc.)

 

Oxygen requires a minimum of the Xtra package.

 

Individual channels cannot be added/removed. Everything is packaged by the networks to TV providers. So it sounds like the package was lowered too much. Check the channels against the packages: https://www.att.com/channels/directv/

771 is a dish alignment problem nothing to do with what channel package you have, there are videos on youtube if you want to try it yourself otherwise you have to call DTV and wait until a CSR can setup a tech visit.

 

No, you can't remove any channels from you package, you can only change the package but they all have Spanish language programming.

August 18, 2020. I'm not getting MECTV and all day and it's funny how if you don't pay your bill on time you can speak to a person. I hate Cable. It's such a hoax. Ready to get firestick like everyone else

Yes about to go firestick myself .... I'm tired of paying for a package and having these (Edited per community guidelines) change the packages when they need more money .... was getting the travel channel package I paid for in the beginning one day I stopped getting it .... was told that its no longer included yet my price never dropped ..... then one day travel channel and others were back ....watched for 6 months .... now its gone again ..... why pay for hundreds of channel I never watch or pay for channels that they can remove without warning!

Status of bill has no effect on how quickly you get an agent or not. Reality is they have been short staffed because of Covid (temporarily shutting down some call centers). They had to rely more on outsourcing. Now as stay at home orders are lifted (though with some social distancing still in place, they are working towards getting back to normal service levels.

TV providers don't own the channels. That is why they all have a clause about channels/programming subject to change at any time. They recently had a national freeview of channels as a courtesy for Covid. That just ended as wasn't intended to last forever. Content owners package their channels to TV providers, so in turn are required to package to us.
