What subscription is needed for SECN+

Can you watch SECN+ with DirectTV (non-streaming) service? What subscription is needed for SECN+?

No, SECN+ is a streaming service so DTV has nothing to do with it, you need a streaming device connected to the TV or the app on your smart TV. AFAIK all you have to do is subscribe to the service on their website.

This is not true! We have DIRECTV Stream and the ESPN app, but are getting an error message that says; 0033 The customer is not authorized for the content requested

SECN+ refers to content available on ESPN's app or website for people have have access to the SEC Network on their TV provider and have enabled that TV provider in their ESPN App/webpage.

Why?  He has DIRECTV.  If he has SEC Network on DIRECTV, then he is eligible to watch SECN+ on the ESPN app.   This is a DIRECTV-based entitlement.

SECN+ is only available when they are showing more than 1 game or if a game runs over. Typically it's just a screen with the schools letters on it Good advice. 100% wrong of course..

Hey @ thanks for bringing that to our attention!

SEC Network + is available through the ESPN App on smartphones, tablets and OTT streaming devices, and on computers via
https://direc.tv/3FLO0KV. SEC Network + is not exactly a TV station, however some customers with specific receivers can watch events on a television screen through the ESPN App.

Let us know if you have further doubts, we are here to help!

Uh, no.  I think you have SECN+ confused with SEC Network Alt 1 and SEC Network Alt 2.  Those are overflow channels used when more than one game that would normally be on SEC Network needs to be carried at once.

Typically it's just a screen with the schools letters on it

SECN+, being a selection of discrete events available on the ESPN App, doesn't "typically" have content like a channel does.  The Alternate channels do have the SEC Network logo on them when not in use.

Good advice. 100% wrong of course..

I wouldn't call anything you said good.  But it was 100% wrong.

I have directv in one location and subscribe to ESPN+ and have the regular SEC network.  I am getting the same message as above that I am not subscribed to the network.  I have a second location with u-verse and ESPN+ and SEC network and it does show all sec+ games.  Why can I not get this on directv with the same subscription?

@bobstegall

Those + channels are streaming services that have nothing to do with DirecTV. They don't partner with streaming subscriptions.

If you have further questions, please start your own thread. This one is from 2021 so you are responding to old posts.
