Hello, local stations began coming back immediately, and most have returned. Any that have not yet returned will be back soon. Thank you for sticking by DIRECTV. Gloria, DIRECTV Community Specialist.

If the channel is owned by Nexstar than it should either be back already or very soon if it is one of the last provisioning.
However, if the channel is one of the 27 that is controlled by Nexstar but owned by another company (such as Mission), then only when a new agreement is reached for them.

Nexstar owned channels have returned. However there are some local channels that are controlled by Nexstar but owned by another affiliate. Those are a separate negotiation. And then of course there is any stations owned by Tegna as they are recently in negotiations.
To verify where your local ABC falls within these: https://www.directvpromise.com/

Hello Juniper,
It really doesn't matter to me who controlled what, when I go to the channel I wanted to see, I can immediately find out if it's on or not.
I live in a rural area and no antenna can access any channels.

It may not matter to you, but it comes down to only the owner of your ABC affiliate station can return it. The link I provided would verify who it is as it verifies against your area (zip code and county). Unfortunately Nexstar gets around rules on how many channels they can have by having an agreement to control others they do not own.
Nobody can force the owner to return the channels. We just have to wait the negotiations out.

Go ahead. Just make sure it's Hulu TV and not Hulu.

The carriage negotiation this thread refers to was a year ago.
In any case, Hulu TV does not guarantee channels either. No provider can as they don't own them.
Perhaps time to plug in a regular antenna for whatever channels are in range.
