WHERE ARE MY ABC, CBS, & NBC CHANNELS FOR EAST AND WEST COAST (CH 390, 391, 392 393, 396, 397)

WHERE ARE MY ABC, CBS, & NBC CHANNELS FOR EAST AND WEST COAST (CH 390, 391, 392 393, 396, 397) I haven't had the TV on for well over a month. Whenever the prime time shows started going into reruns I wasn't watching the networks that much. My sister (77 yrs old) who is hard of hearing hasn't had hers on much either lately. She calls me to come fix her TV she can't find her channels. We no longer have access to the network channels we had for both the East and West coast. We just have the local channels. We've had these channels since we went with Directv almost 30 years ago. We like watching the East coast channels over the local channels and having the West coast channels if we get home late and miss our favorite shows. Why did they take these away from us  I want them back. I'm on autopay and the invoices are e-mailed to an old e-mail account and when I checked it, I saw nothing telling me they were going to do it. I WANT MY CHANNELS BACK!!!!

The channels in the 390s are DNS, out-of-market channels. They are no longer allowed to be provided per Federal regulations.

What happened is the networks lobbied Congress to let the STELAR Act expire this year, and won. So now TV providers may only provide locals for your actual address: www.directv.com/locals

If there are no corresponding locals for those, or no locals at all, then only time will tell if DirecTV may get permission from any channels for the market you live in, or if market lines will expand to include rural areas that are currently not in any local market.

You can't get the dns channels back since the stelar act that allowed for them expired. You're no longer being charged for them either

Thanks for the info. That's why I posted on here hoping I'd find it. I hate it. I preferred those channels over the locals because I'm on the border of two counties and always watched different local channels with regular TV vs cable than what we get.

The STELA (and the slightly different acronyms over the years) was a 5-year renewable provision that pre-dates DBS (I had those on C-Band). It was intended to provide locals before DBS spot beam LIL was conceived (online with DTV 7S). It was renewed every 5 years until expiring at the end of 2019 (service extended to the end of 5/2020 to allow for transition). It was never intended for perpetuity. Once all DMA's were served by DBS, it wasn't going to be extended. DTV played a game (that lasted through 4 renewals) that if they did not serve all DMA's with LIL (portions of 12 DMA's affecting 800K of 40M+ DBS subscribers remain without locals) then congress would keep renewing. Congress finally agreed with the Narcissistic Assoc of Broadcastrators that DTV never intended to comply with providing service to all DMA's) and let STELA expire. Dish DID comply, but lost their right to provide DNS as well, so that is not an option.

@Tvsmith

This thread is about the DNS channels around 390 that were removed a couple months ago per change in Federal regulations (STELAR Act Expired).

If you are referring to different channels, start a fresh thread for your issue. Include what channels are affected, model of boxes, and what happens when you try going to the channel (symptoms, error message, etc.).
