Why are shows missing from On Demand?

Sometimes a show that we have set to record doesn't get recorded (usually because of weather or because the equipment is offline during the scheduled broadcast).  When we go into On Demand to find it, it's never there.  Example:  last Monday night we returned from a trip in our RV and hooked our equipment up too late to record Episode 5, Season 3 of The Rookie.   When we went into On Demand tonight  to watch it, it wasn't there.  All the other episodes were there, but not that one.  This has happened several times before. Why is that?  What good is On Demand if the shows you miss aren't there?

The channels control what and when they add their programs to their On Demand servers.

Unless it is a heavy rain or snow you shouldn't be losing the signal you may need to have the dish aligned.

The shows are not missing as the channel owners didn't put them there in the first place. Each channel maintains their own On Demand library. So up to them on what is or is not available through that method.

On Demand gives a way to watch additional content that may not be on satellite TV or in some cases recently missed. This way you can watch on your own schedule. There is just never a guarantee of any specific content being there.

It just seems an odd coincidence that the only episode missing is the one we're looking for.   Every time.
