WHY can't I ADD a SINGLE channel to my CURRENT account?

That’s just not the way Directv works and never has. Unless it happens to be a premium channel that can be added independently, the only way to add any channel is to switch to a programming package that includes that channel.

Maybe that is why so many people are 'cutting the cord'... Customer comes last..

Networks package channels to TV providers. They in turn must package to us customers.

Channels are not individually al-a-carte. You either go to the package that has it or add in the small pack it is a part of.

I DO NOT want to PAY for a HIGHER package for ONE channel. I know Inflation is NOT affecting Direct TV, however, being Disabled Army Veteran I watch more than next guy and being an Independent (Edited per community guidelines) and not a Democrat my daily wishes are of no concern by the Media. It's okay...maybe ONE DAY some magical Congress will be installed and consumer friendly FCC Commissioner will be appointed who will be interested in some suggestions. Thank You.

The Travel Channel is in Choice and up. So only Family, Select, and Entertainment do not have the it. You can change your package at any time. So if you are only wanting the channel for so much time to catch up on a show, you could lower back down whenever you are done.

Nothing was said about inflation. What is happening is that the TV industry is setup by the networks to package everything. It is not an al-a-carte industry.

This has nothing to do with your political affiliation or your DAV status with the VA or DEERS. Just comes down to the industry is not setup to your personal tastes. They provide variety instead.
