why cant i watch my playlist on my android phone

I have an HS17/100 server on my Genie2 system, and I have verified that it is connected to the internet.  When I try to watch my playlist on my phone, I hit "get started", then it says activating DVR, then it tries to register the DVR.  After several minutes, I get a message "We couldn't connect to your DVR.  Please Try Again. (100)"

What gives?

First of all the HS17 is not "on the Genie2 system". The HS17 is the Genie-2 itself. All the other little boxes are Mini Genie Clients.

Is your phone connected to the same home network as the Genie-2? They removed out-of-home streaming quite some time ago.
