Usually, no. If this is affecting your signal then your dish needs to be reaimed or you should have a technician come out to troubleshoot the system. To confirm, do you receive error 771?

If you mean satellite, wind will have no effect. Here in DFW we get 70mph winds and they have no effect. If you are having a problem it means your dish is not mounted properly, or the pole is not secure.

Trees interfering?
Loose dish mount?
Loose coax cables?

Sure thing. The number is in my greeting below. If you have the Protection Plan, the visit is free. Otherwise, it’s $99

Wind doesn't affect signal directly. But if trees sway between dish and satellite in orbit, the dish is shifting (not secured well, or what it is secured to is not very resistant to the wind), then it could be afecting the alignment a bit.
If you provide some details about the issue, we can see if there is anything to check that might resolve it or at least assure that a tech is needed. Why wait however many days/weeks if something you could take care of yourself.
Describe the issue (symptoms, error messages, etc.).
Model of boxes?
All TVs affected? (if not, which ones have the problem?)
Coax finger tight to each box?
Red button reset on boxes?
Any other troubleshooting tried?
Other issues?
Also for future reference, the base level of the protection plan is $8.99 a month. That comes out to $107.88 every year whether you use it or not. A tech visit is $99, with 90 day worry free guarantee (so not charged again if have to come back out within that time). So unless you are needing techs multiple times every year, then the one-time costs are cheaper in the long run.

Post were helpful but scheduling was not. It was over a month before I could get an appointment scheduled.
Thanks for the help.

Unfortuantely DirecTV like other companies has experienced a mass shortage of techs since the pandemic. That is just another reason to see what can be done yourself to try and ease the issue.
Historically their appointment system only looks out 30 days. So if over a month, I would consider calling back (once a week or an interval you feel comfortable with) to see if any earlier appointments have opened up.
