Your Local CDW TV Station Update
I received confirmation for our local CW station manager, who in turn contacted their corporate staff. It was confirmed that CW is transmitting in 720p to DTV Satellite and is being downgraded to 480i picture quality to their customers. Apparently, the only way for change is to complain the DTV. The CW station manager made no mention to any contract between them and Directv.
There are several STARZ channels on DTV, that are downgraded to 480i too.
The big question to DTV: Why do they see it necessary to downgrade any higher quality received transmission? DTV Satellite has many channels that are not in 1080i, which we have blocked from our viewing. [Favorite Channels]

@teetertotter Our teams did confirm that WMTV-D2 CW is airing at 480i per the retrans contract with the ownership group. All channels are delivered by the contract specifications, so other CW stations throughout the country could be airing in either HD or SD depending on the contract direction. Thanks for asking and apologize for our delayed answer. Sebastian, DIRECTV Community Specialist
