Directv 4k ch 105 and 106
Got a 4k receiver to watch 4k on my 4k TV, channel 104 comes in great but the other 4k channels (105 - 106) always tells me that I have to subscribe (721 error) I reset my receiver and called support but seem as if No one has answers. I know if the game is blacked out this can happen but I'm 3 months in and have yet to see any 4k programing on 105-106. Is this normal? I'm in the South Jersey area, is anyone in this area experiencing these issues? Any feedback/help that anyone may be aware of I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

Hello, JowJow, we want you to enjoy all your programming. There are some reasons related to this error message. It can be about your package, those channels are not included. In another way, they should display the programming for events. However, these channels are Pay Per View. I suggest you complete this troubleshooting in the following link Get help with DIRECTV error 721 | DIRECTV Customer Service & Support. Claudia, DIRECTV Community Specialist

I should have access, channel 104, 105 and 106 are 4k channels offered. I can receive channel 104 but have yet to see any content on 105 and 106

I’m in Bergen County, NJ and no one here is having the issues you are experiencing. Anyway, this sort of error 721 is linked to your equipment as if it were everyone then the entire US would have an issue as all content is delivered to us customers the same, over satellite.
What is the Genie receiver model? What programming package do you have and does 4K service show up as a service online at directv.com under “My Package”?
Have you tried the regular red button reset of the C61K receiver (4K) and the main Genie receiver?

@JowJow
What is the model of box on the 4K TV and what is the model of your main Genie?
There isn't a different satellite per city. Those provide nationwide coverage. Area specific (i.e. local channels) is spot beamed, but of course 4K is not spot beamed.
As a note, there is no 4K receiver. The C61K is a Mini Genie, which is a Client (no tuners or recording space) and instead steals what it needs from the Genie receiver (HR54) or Genie-2 Headless Server tower (HS17) that functions as the receiver part.

I have the HS17-100 and the C61K, I have the choice Plan but im not seeing anything that says 4k under "My Package" but as stated I am getting 4k channel 104. tried resetting, tried refresh and called it in but nothing. the other issue was the refresh, after i did that I no longer see all my channels in the directv app or logging in online selecting Watch NOW, i only see roughly 12 channels locals and my HBO. im so frustrated with directv, this is crazy. I have a call in with hem about the app but nothing yet.

4K is in all current packages except Family. Just need the correct equipment (which by those model numbers you have) and the (non-chargable) line item in their system active.

What do you mean by non-chargable line item?

Every item in your service has a line-item in their system. Similar to what you see on the bill, but on their end even items that have no cost (such as 4K or the capability of being able to order PPVs) as they see a more detailed breakdown. The system has to account for each individual part.
When you log in online, it should show you service that are available (such as 4K) even if that particular item doesn't charge. If it doesn't show online, then you may need to call DirecTV and verify it is on the account and not disabled in some way.
You can also try refreshing service authorizations www.directv.com/refresh though if the website doesn't have it available (everything still migrating to the new co-owner) then this would need to be done over the phone as well.

I too was perplexed to not get 105 and 106. I spoke to Directv support and they (like DIRECTVhelp above) said that 105 and 106 are pay per view. So you get only one free 4K channel on directv. Is this new ? The guide doesn't say they are pay per view.
They also said that the 721 error code just means that there was no program on the channel and that the guide was wrong to say there was baseball game. Seems weird.
Makes me kind regret upgrading to HS17.

@DMC4k
What are the models of your Mini Genie Clients (since this is all you are allowed with the Genie-2 HS17)? Did you get C61K or something else? Just making sure you have a 4K setup.
As a note, the HR54 also supports the 4K Client. But only one TV can be using a 4K channel at a time where the HS17 is able to allow two at once. But with the HR54 you get PiP, allowed other receivers for more tuners (as well as dedicated instead of forced shared), can set individual settings, and you have the option to expand storage (unless you have the very first year of HS17, then they too have an eSATA port for external hard drive).
