Sure. What model is it? And, do you have a portable DIRECTV SWM dish with tripod or non-penetrating mount? You may also need a power inserter depending on the receiver model. Model HR54 and H44 do power the dish but other receivers require a power inserter.
In the RV, you will need to have a slimline SWM dish on a tripod/sled mount or the Winegard Trav'ler. If you have any prior models, those are MEPG-2/SD-only which must be replaced. DirecTV is shutting down the old feeds and sticking with MPEG-4 going forward.
As mentioned when you travel outside your home area's spot beam, you will not receive local channels. For those you would need to use a regular over-the-air (OTA) antenna to pickup whatever is in range where you travel.
