No one here would be able to tell you that being we are customers just like you. What local channel market are you in? As greedy channel owners keep demanding more money DIRECTV cannot continually pass the cost onto the customers so the channel ends up getting dropped. In the meantime, DIRECTV continues to negotiate with FOX.
There are a few things you can do to continue to receive FOX. One, set up an over-the-air (OTA) antenna and connect it to the back of your TV to scan for digital channels. Depending on where the local news tower for FOX is, you may be able to receive it with an indoor antenna.
Two, you can download the FOX application and login with DIRECTV as your TV provider to gain access to live and on-demand content.
Most likely the owner of the channel, which is an affiliate station of Fox (not Fox owned themselves), pulled the feed as they hadn't reached a new carriage agreement. If that is the case, then the "when" is when they give it back to DirecTV upon a new agreement reached.
If it turns out your area is not covered by a carriage dispute, then more info would be needed to troubleshoot.
At months, then it is either plug in a regular over-the-air (OTA) antenna for the free broadcast or whatever streaming Fox might have online. However, you cannot log in with your DirecTV credentials as you aren't authorized it in the first place (if carriage dispute and not technical issue).
