Keep getting disk is full and it shuts down

To delete the entire HDD, you have to perform a factory reset. What is the receiver model?

A full hard drive shouldn't cause the receiver to shut down. The hard drive could be failing. Usually we say to replace it as when it is that far gone to need to erase the whole hard drive it is not going to last much longer.

If you get "disk is full" than you should delete some recordings. But that shouldn't cause it to shut down, unless perhaps that hard drive is failing.
What is the model of the box you are having trouble with?
