Local weather not updating

Weather Channel (362) has not updated the local weather for four days (Wednesday, March 1, 2023 to Sunday, March 5) and the section above the daily weather says "Temporarily Unavailable". I have tried changing and adding cities, power cycling the box, and pressing the red reset button on the box. My box model is H25-500 DIRECTV Satellite Receiver. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, we know that having the information updated on the weather channel is very important, this issue is currently in an investigation status, and we are working to resolve it. I am having the same problem and it has been 2 weeks now.  I went to the above link and it told me nothing. My service has been reset and still no resolution.  What is the problem, in English, and don't send me somewhere else.

Well according to DirecTV the issue is being investigated. However, I would reach out to The Weather Channel and see if there if they are having a problem with the data feed that goes to DirecTV.

In either case, it is up to the respective companies to fix it. Nothing we can do on our end as customers but wait.

I am having the same problem in NW Louisiana.  My system has been reset 3 times.  I still have the information from last week showing when I press the red button.  Temporarily unavailable is long passed.  Over a week is not temporary.

Has anyone reached out to The Weather Channel about this? Wondering if issue is on their side or DirecTV's.

Over a week is still temporary as long as it gets fixed. There is not an exact number of days for "temporary".

I did send an email to the weather channel a couple of days ago.  I got a reply saying they were investigating the problem.  They couldn't give a date for the problem to be fixed or resolved.

I finally found a place to submit a ticket to The Weather Channel. If they reply, I will post their reply on this forum.

Okay, that was fast, not very helpful but fast.  At least we know they are aware of the issue. Here is the response I received.

DirectTV is currently experiencing issues that are impacting viewers trying to get Weather Channel information. They are working on the issue but there is no ETA at the moment.

You may be right.  They seem to be kicking the can somewhere.  I got an email in reply to my case yesterday afternoon.  It said feedback for the television-based service will need to be provided to a different company that operates it.  All 3 of the email addresses in the message have the word "stream" in them.  I'll have to wait until later to see if any of them work.

I agree about the issue of finding information on satellite service vs. streaming. I just chatted with a very nice DIRECTV agent who said I have their oldest receiver. He suggested that updating the receiver may fix the issue. I'm not completely convinced, but I figured it wouldn't hurt. The install is scheduled for Monday. I'll let you know if that works.

It is sad that so many customers have asked the same question ( red dot being temporarily down ) and Directv has not responded adequately to them.  We tried the site Directv recommended and didn't get any useful information.
