Lost $10 Monthly credit for Advanced HD Receiver for Life
I have been a Directv customer for a long time. During this time, I have been receiving a monthly $10 credit for "Advanced Receiver-HD HD For Life w/Auto Bill Pay" which was a promotion when I signed up. There have been no changes to my account but starting in November and continuing in December, Directv removed this credit. I just wasted an hour of my time speaking to a supposed billing specialist who cannot figure out what has happened and basically will not help. They have provided no path forward for resolving this problem. This is fraudulent billing practices on Directv - clearly this promotion is not for life.

As long as you have the required billing options (such as auto bill pay) and still have the minimum package, then the credit should still be applying.
It is not fraudulent as it is intended to remain as long as you are still qualified. A error does not make fraud, and neither does an agent who was unsucessfull in fixing it.
I would call back and speak to a retention/cancellation specialist (say "cancel" at the voice prompt) as they historically are more experienced than front line agents. Keep in mind your promotion was offered in the days before AT&T acquired DirecTV, never mind the new co-owner now in the mix, so many current agents are probably not familiar with the special.
If that doesn fix the issue, or at least provide valid reason why the special dropped off, then I would consider a BBB complaint to take it to the corporate level as a last resort.
